Guides To Choose a Perfect Camp Site
Mar 05, 2019
A campsite is a place where you set up your camping gear. You necessarily don’t find a campsite but create it. Choosing a campsite would, therefore, be one step towards creating an epic camping adventure. A poorly selected campsite can create you problems making you not achieve your ultimate goal of the camping. Due to this reason, it is wise to consider some factors when setting up a suitable camping site. Five guides are as discussed below suggested by our friends over at InvertPro.
Level of the ground

Consider a relatively gentle incline slope. A hilly slope may be frustrating as objects from your tent can start falling off making you uncomfortable in your day to day activities and wasting most of your time. On very flat ground, you would also have difficulties in case it rained. This is because at a flat level the water won’t flow and may remain stagnant. Stagnant water can lead to some other problems like an attack by pest resulting in diseases. A gently sloping site could also be suitable due to comfort during sleep time as one lies their head on the sloppy side.
The direction of the wind

Sometimes wind can be a good thing especially if coming from water bodies such as lakes or oceans. This is because it creates a good cooling breeze during the hot or warm afternoons. Excessive wind on the other side can be of distraction and disturbance. A lot of wind can cause blowing off of tents, blowing of rocks if in a rocky place which may harm you. It could be therefore of great benefit if you sited your camping gear at a place where there is a protection of so much wind like near sand dunes, hills and mountains.
The surrounding environment

It is not a surprise that you found another group at the same camping site as you are. Your goals for the camping may differ. Theirs maybe for leisure and yours to conduct an investigation. Therefore, consider another site as there could be some disturbance like during the night when you need sleep, and they may be having some loud music. Dangerous animals may also be in the surrounding. To keep them away, you can use certain medicines

Size

By saying size, we mean that you should consider the size of the group that is camping and the tent size. If there is a big group, we need an ample space where the whole group will fit. Consider also the size of the tent. A big tent will obviously occupy a bigger space so set it in a wider place where it will fit.

Location

Consider the proximity to the toilets, water sources and other support facilities. How far are these facilities? Locating them closer would be a wiser decision if you rarely need them. Keep all the factors that you need accessible. Select a camping site where you are comfortable.
In conclusion, these guides will help you select a comfortable and a perfect campsite for you. It would be important to pre-visit the site to have a clear definition of what you would like. After camping leave the place clean or even cleaner than you found it, make it enjoyable, make it happen!
